The Problem
Creating product listings is very time consuming and expensive as a regular consumer. A single listing often requires brand setup, design work, and multiple feedback rounds, which can take up to two weeks and cost €200–€600 when done through a design agency specialized in creating listings.
Creating listings in pre-existing tools doesn’t work either. Canva is too broad and focused on general design templates. Figma allows you to create anything you want, but requires extensive design knowledge.
The Solution
ListingDesigner turns this into a structured flow instead of a design process. Users start from pre-built templates and simply fill in their content, without needing to think about layout or design decisions. If needed, we do allow users to create their own templates using existing components.
The goal is to make listing creation faster, more consistent and accessible to people without design experience.
Consistency
One of the biggest advantages of working with templates is consistency. Users don’t have to think about layouts, spacing or typography every time they create a listing. Those decisions are made once and reused across products.
When updating a brand, these changes automatically carry over to existing listings, keeping everything consistent. ListingDesigner also supports live brand books with shareable links, making it easy to communicate the latest guidelines with teams and clients.
Collaboration
Creating listings often involves more than one person. You have one person for design, one for images, one for copywriting and more. They all have to work separately and progress feels slow. When something’s finally put together, endless revisions happen and the end product gets delayed even more.
ListingDesigner was built around collaboration, making it easy for multiple people to work together in real-time. Using roles, everyone has their own tasks and a copywriter can’t interfere with designing, like you still can on traditional design software.
Design Process
The goal for creating the visual identity was a simple, flexible foundation that supports the product without distracting from the content. Inside the app, I used a blue accent with a mostly grayscale interface to keep things focused and clear.
I explored a more colorful direction for social media and external use, making the brand more eye-catching and noticeable. This gives the identity more personality outside the product while still staying connected to the core visual system.
